Mental health support in schools
1 in 6 people will experience a mental illness some time in their lives, therefore mental health support in the workplace and at home is just as relevant as administering first aid in a medical emergency.
In February 2024 the HSE updated their guidelines on Mental Health Awareness in the workplace, they are now emphasising that it is the employers’ responsibility to take account of employees’ mental health in their first aid needs assessment.
Identifying the signs early will lead to a speedy intervention and support which is essential to a person's wellbeing, and in turn will decrease staff absence and increase productivity in the workplace. Here at Calne based Wiltshire First Aid Training, we offer nationally two recognised accredited courses.

Course reviews
“MHFA can be a heavy subject and a lot to take in, however Amanda managed to ensure the tasks were a little lighter and presented the information in a memorable and relevant to the team approach leaving us feeling more confident around mental health”
