Absenteeism from the workplace is often due to injuries sustained from the incorrect handling and moving of loads. This qualification may protect employers from potential litigation if an injury should occur to an employee. It provides employees with the competence, knowledge and awareness to their own safety through risk assessment and controls available.

Calne based Wiltshire First Aid Training provides a Principles of Manual Handling Course, which is ideal for anybody whose daily work activities include pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, moving and intentionally dropping loads.

Course content

  • The reasons for safe manual handling
     

  • How manual handling risk assessments contribute
     

  • The principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety

Teacher and Pupil

Assessment, certification and duration

  • After successful completion a candidate will receive a nationally recognised certificate in Principles of Manual Handling and is valid for three years
     

  • Two hours, it is recommended this qualification is refreshed every three years

Maximum course numbers and cost

  • Up to a maximum of 24 candidates per session.
     

  • Individuals £40 per person + VAT. Please go to open courses to see out course dates for individuals.
