Paediatric first aid courses to suit early years settings
At Wiltshire First Aid Training we offer courses which cover the administering of first aid in schools, childcare nurseries and pre-schools. They can be 12-hours or-6 hours dependent on your role.​
Certification
Wiltshire First Aid Training will provide an Ofsted and EYFS compliant and First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) approved Paediatric First Aid certificate on successful completion of the course. This will enable candidates to perform the role of First Aider at your setting for three years. If choosing the accredited Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid on successful completion your certificate will be issued by an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation Qualifications Network UK (QNUK). It is up to you which one you choose, both certifications will enable candidates to perform the role of first aider in the workplace for three years.
Paediatric first aid course
This Ofsted compliant two day (12-hour) course is intended for those who work in an early year setting such as nurseries, child minders, nannies, playgroups, Children Centre employees and those working towards their child care qualifications. The course meets the standard required by Ofsted, EYFS. Department for Education and on successful completion the candidate will be qualified to respond to a situation whereby an infant or child is ill or injured.

For those who do not need to attend a full 12-hour paediatric first aid course such as parents, babysitters, voluntary workers then we can adapt it to your requirements and can deliver the training over, either 4 or 6-hours.

Assessment and course numbers
The trainer will assess learners' competence on a practical and informal basis. If choosing the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) the practical assessment is conducted by the trainer and learners also sit a written multiple choice test paper.
In-house courses require a minimum of 6 candidates and a maximum of 24 candidates (provided there is enough room). 2 trainers will be provided for larger numbers.
