Be a trained work first aider
The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one day course which takes 6-hours to complete. It meets the standards required to comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course is the minimum requirement for a person to deal with potential casualties in the workplace. The HSE also recommends an annual refresher course which takes 3 hours to complete.
This course also includes the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
In February 2024 the HSE updated their guidelines on Mental Health Awareness in the workplace, there is now an increased focus on the employer’s responsibility to account for the mental health of their employees within their first aid needs assessment. Wiltshire First Aid Training provides a course in first aid for mental health.

Course reviews
"Emma was an amazing trainer, she went through everything in detail and provided many different scenarios. This wasn’t the bog standard training where you listen to a lecture and do the rest on your own, it was interactive and the atmosphere was welcoming."
